On Wednesday, September 1, Rotary presented Anacortes Schools Foundation President Treva King and Executive Director (and Rotarian) Marta McClintock a giant check in the amount of $110,250. This important sum included $88,000 earmarked for 2021 summer learning. The lion-share of this funding came from our generous anonymous donor and was facilitated through the work of Rotarians Jack Curtis, Melissa Turnage and Justin Irish. Other support included $22,250 for Impact, the Kindergarten through 5th grade summer program, $3250 for backpacks and school supplies for the Ready to Learn Fair and $500 toward Class of 2021 Senior Banners which were displayed on Commercial Avenue during the months of June and July.
